sqeaky belt

this is a dumb question but im just reassuring myself. i took my belt off to check all the pulleys and the ps pump pulley moves about a 1/4 inch or a little more in and out if you pull on it. so im guessing the ps pump needs replaced?

Re: sqeaky belt

Thats pretty normal for a ps pump to move in and out a little bit. As long as it has no up and down movement you it should be fine. 1/4 might be a bit much, but they do have some play in and out.

Re: sqeaky belt

Change the belt first. I just experienced this as I initially thought the same thing. $40 belt vs. $400 ps pump....I would almost guarantee you that you just need a new belt, the in and out you are referring to is normal.
