Mechanical fuel pump install cost

What is the average cost to have a mechanic shop install a new fuel pump on a '97 superduty?

Re: Mechsnical fuel pump install cost

I know I went by the dealer when mine went out and he was going to charge me 8 hours labor and 320 for the fuel pump. So approximately 1K.

I went to Auto Zone picked it up for approx 90 bucks, went home, cracked a beer, and had it done and wrapped up in 45 minutes. I felt like going back and doing a citizens arrest. I'm a guy who has done one or two can get it done in 30 minutes or less.

Re: Mechsnical fuel pump install cost

I think total price I charged was around 300... including pump, but it wasn't from autozone. I also replace the lines, clamps, etc....

The back nut is an SOB.... also make sure you don't drop the tappet in the crankcase! One reason right there to take your time.
