I do not see the oil cooler being your issue at all. Do all 8 cylinders have compression?

I also would not think so. Time to dig in deep is my guess but you could pull that injector first if you wanted to be sure.

Let me get the story strait before i comment....

You have exhaust getting into the cooling system.....

And you have a dead #2 cylender???

Re: heavy exhaust out of upper radiator hose

Then more than likely you have either an issue with the headgasket or a cavitated cylinder wall from what i have seen. Your probably going to have to tear it down to find the problem. Sometimes cavitation is tough to find and you may have to have the head/block magnafluxed to find it depending on how big the opening is. Headgasket issues on the 7.3 are pretty rare but are very possible. Usually when they happend someone with a modified truck is running a tune with a lot of timing in it (usually a fuel economy tune) and they get on it hard and the timing builds too much cylender pressure for the stock headbolts.

In order for it to be an injector cup, you would have to have both a comnpletely burned up copper washer on the injector tip, and a cracked injector cup. Usually you would see a fuel in the coolant issue long before you would ever get exhaust into the cooling system....but i suppose it is possible.
