Missing Bad After Injector O-Rings

I replaced the injector o-rings this afternoon on the drivers bank since I did the passenger side last week. My problem now is the truck is missing awful and falls on its face. It takes forever to get up to 75 on the highway and I cant pass it falls on its face. I did take my shim out of the fpr at the same time and used the orginal spring I am wondering if maybe its the spring in the fpr. The truck idles fine in neutral and revs find no shakes but as soon as you put it in gear in falls on its face. My speedometer also started bouncing around about 5 mph on the highway. I don't think it is my tranny as I have no light flashing and it was perfectly fine before the orings and fpr. All ideas?

I was thinking fuel pump?

Just to clarify it ran fine for about 30 mins after I finished the o-rings. The fuel pump has been leaking for about 4 months.

Re: Missing Bad After Injector O-Rings

I would definately check your fuel pressure. Could be a broken spring......or it could even be that the spring was weakened by the shim you had in there. I have seen that a few times.

I dont know what your diagnostic capabilities are....But monitoring ICP would be good to know too.....

Re: Missing Bad After Injector O-Rings

Heading out now to check fuel pressure is it possible its the cps? The truck uses way more fuel then it suppose to and every now and then would cut out and turn back out. Would a cps go bad and buckle like that. If it matters it started missing when it was raining outside the idm on the other hand was dry.

Re: Missing Bad After Injector O-Rings

Fuel Pressure bounces between 55 and 70 even under wot so that seems fine.

Check the fuel filter, I bet it has oil in it. I bet you cut a o-ring on install. In my experiance, if you fix something and it breaks, it is usually directly related to what you fixed.

Oil is full, fuel bowl is diesel color no oil in it. No blue/grey smoke out tailpipe when driving. All I remember is I started it after o-rings with the passenger side valve cover harnesses unplugged and it threw a cel I remember shut the truck off plugged them back in and started back up no cel. Do I need to reset the pcm?

So went out tonight and started pulling the valve cover harness connectors 1 at a time when you un plug each one of the passenger sides one at a time it wants to die. Same with drivers rear. however the drivers front doesnt seem to change idle that much? I am going to swap the harnesses tomorrow around and see if it changes

Re: Missing Bad After Injector O-Rings

Popped the valve cover off. One of the injectors was unplugged and my problem got 50% better but not 100% Still missing on the highway and will go over 3000rpm now if you hold it long enough. Still sluggish especially off the line. Going to check the other valve cover tomorrow.
