Fuel Gauge Issue/Maybe bad Pick Up

I replaced the injector o-rings on my truck and everything ran good for a few tanks. But lately my gas gauge moves all around when driving like the tank is sloshing and if I put 5 gallons in the rear tank. It will move to a quarter and then as soon as I leave go to e and at 55 miles later the truck will run dry. I used to be able to go 85-95 miles on 5 gallons? Is it possible the pick up is broke off and the truck is actually not running dry?

Depending on your location, you may be just running winter blend fuel which will drop you mpg's a few. The fuel gauges on these trucks bounce a lot.

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue/Maybe bad Pick Up

the pickup umbrellas rot and fall off. so at 1/4 tank you run out the broken pieces could be banging the level rod causint the bouncing around.is it doing it on both tanks or just one? when mine went I had pulled both tanks the other one was about to go too.

Re: Fuel Gauge Issue/Maybe bad Pick Up

Mine is doing it on the front tank more but the back tank is doing it too just not as bad. If that makes sense is there a link to a thread on here to fix it?
