Surging idle?

I have a 97 rollback with surging idle hot or cold doesn't matter. Runs fine other wise. Any ideas where to start looking/checking would be great. I say it runs fine it doesn't miss or surge except at idle but does seem to be down on power don't drive the truck much just use to go pickup broke down work vans on occasion. So not real sure if it's down on power or just me because my daily driver is a hopped up 6.0.

Had this same problem a few days ago. Found out the tin nut on my ipr was so loose! Snuged it up and problem solved, for now anyways. Hope that was all it was! The IPR is ( Injection Pressure Regulator ).

Thanks on the ipr but I'm really curious why he would need an oil change?

Re: Surging idle?

the injectors are driven by oil, it breaks down over time, sometimes driveability issues are tied to the oil, that's why it comes up so much, so keep your oil fresh, changed, and clean.
