Cb radio and pyro gauge interference

i have boost and pyro guges mounted on the a pillar. and then the sending unit box for the egt gauge thats in between the probe and the gauge is mounted up under my dash. and then my gallaxy dx 99 is also hooked up. everything works fine like its sapposed to. my guages obviosly turn on with the key. so they are always on if the truck is...lights and all...no big deal. i can also turn on my cb. and all will be good. but when i key my mic the egt gauge needle acts as if it looses power and goes down. i could be goiin down the road at 55 mph and be running round 600 degrees and then key the mic and the needle will drop 200-400 degrees. then i let go and it goes back up. its not a huge deal but annoying and i dont get it. any ideas guys?

Re: Cb radio and pyro gauge interference

Could they be grounded to the same spot?

Re: Cb radio and pyro gauge interference

Try running the ground for the CB back to the battery. Body and frame ground will cause you problems over time.

Re: Cb radio and pyro gauge interference

What brand and type of pyro gauge are you running? If it is using a separate box for the signal from the pyrometer you could be experiencing electromagnetic interference. Since it only does so when you key the mic on the cb this would be my assumption. Is the cb tuned up by any chance? Where is the antenna for the cb mounted?

It's a isspro pyro gauge. Yes it does have the box. The cb is a very high powered galaxy dx99v. It's like a $500 cb. It's Mounted under the pull out ashtray. The antenna is mounted on the bed on the passenger side closest to the cab. Thanks for your help. Like I said before I still get a good reading on the gauge and cb works fine. Just weird and annoying.
