Torque Converter

Simple question: will a 6.0 t/c fit a 96 7.3? My brother is rebuilding an E40D and needs a torque converter (you can hear parts rattle around when you move it). Got a screaming deal on a new torque converter in town here but I don't need one. Just kind of curious.
