Re: cant find oil leak

Best place to start would be to clean up the top of the motor and get a good light. If it's leaking that bad you should be able to pinpoint it once its cleaned up. Could very well be coming from the HPOP, or the lines.

Re: cant find oil leak

I had a bad oil leak and it was the oil rail plug, now I know that something else is probably leaking if you have oil in the valley, ( hpop, or lines)
But it wouldnt hurt to check the oil rail plugs.

Re: cant find oil leak

The oil rail plugs are in the rear of the cylinder heads. You will have to remove your down-pipe to replace the passenger side. There is an updated plug available through Ford with new o-ring design. Get the engine cleaned up, and get some light on it. Check Hpop & lines, use a mirror to check the oil rail plugs. Good luck

Yeah mine was on the front. It leaked real bad and I got the new one from ford and it's fine now. Just had to remove the alternator and mounting to get to it.

Re: cant find oil leak

That is correct. I guess what I was trying to say was, the ones in the rear are harder to check for leaks. It should be no problem to see if the front plugs are leaking.
