Trans Temps - Analog Gauge VS Edge CTS

I am almost certain I read somewhere that the trans temp on an analog gauge differs from that of the Edge CTS and other scanners due to where the sending units are located.

Is there a difference and if so how much?

Re: Trans Temps - Analog Gauge VS Edge CTS

I have also read those posts and observed this. Expect like 10 degrees hotter on a scan kind of gauge.

Re: Trans Temps - Analog Gauge VS Edge CTS

An analog gauge sending unit is usually mounted in a pressure test port up away from the pan. The factory sending unit is located on the solenoid pack. Yes there will be around a 10 degree difference in temps.
