Unhappy engine will not go over 1800rpm?

My friend told me to place a bb in my factory fuel pressure regulator to increase fuel pressure,now my truck wont rev over 1800rpm,I did nothing else ran great the night before

you could have bent the spring or it was not aligned correctly on the nipple on the inside of the brass plug...Did you put the BB Inside the metal plunger ?....the order is plunger then BB inside , then the spring...you have to be careful not to bend the spring or have it bind in any way ....

I bent the spring when I was trying to raise the fuel pressure on mine and it blew out the pulsation damper. It didn't have much fuel pressure then and the idle was kind of rough.

97 f250, ZF-5 tranny, 6637, 3" round downpipe 5" exhaust, PHP six position, 6.0 liter I/C, DIY exhaust brake, 05 axle swap, 280HP 551 ft. lbs.

I replaced every thing in the fuel pressure regulator.still wont go over 1800rpm.hopeing its the fuel pump

is that the plunger under the pump that rides on the camshaft hopefull thats all

No, the "plunger" that was mentioned is the sort-of triangular shaped spool valve of the fuel pressure regulator. Are you able to measure the fuel pressure? Cheers!

cant start it now pulled turbo to rebuild it.bushings worn out
