Hpop question

Just put a 17 deg pump on my 96 that is totally rebuilt 0 miles on it. The 15 deg pump would not pump oil at all.

The question is once every thing is full should the heads hold that oil pressure for a bit after it pumps up?

I have to crank for 30 to 40 sec then the pressure pops up and it trys to fire but wont. As soon as i stop cranking the head pressure drops to 0 in 1 to 2 seconds. The gauge in on the pass head and I notice only the number 8 injector is pumping oil out when it trys to fire. I think i nerfed the injector orings on the other injectors.

Am i thinking about right? Getting tired of working on this truck

Re: Hpop question

It's going to take some cranking to get it to start...

Re: Hpop question

I cranked it in burst for 5 min or so. Enough time to almost catch the starter on fire. man that stinks. I will need a new starter very soon. Going to pull the the from galley plugs on the heads and make sure there is no air in there when i get home.

Re: Hpop question

Sounds like a possible injector O ring could be blown, or your IPR is stuck open. Check and make sure your IPR has voltage.

Re: Hpop question

Pulled the font rail plugs on both head and added alot of oil to both sides. closed it up and pressure build much faster and then holds 300lb or so.

Re: Hpop question

What year of truck?
If its a '95 the 17* won't work..only way is to have your 15* modded to a 17*. Thats free..PM me if I can help.
