i sucked coolant into the motor,i dont know how it got in, the motor is out now i was going to replace the head gaskets and do head studs, anything to look for when i have it apart? motor has 170k on it anything i can do to build the motor up for under $2000 (rods, pistons)???
You better have the rods checked if it was running when it sucked the coolant in. Water does not compress and therefore you usually do serious damage when that happens. I would also say reseal the oil pan, new oil dipstick o-ring, new rear main seal and/or rear main seal plate reseal. Check the HPOP oil rail plugs at the back of the engine and replace o-rings as necessary. Front seal check/replacement along with new LPOP. Check your exhaust manifolds for leaks at the heads and have them machined if necessary. That stuff is just off the top of my head.
