I found a parts truck is it worth it?

I found a 97 f-250 4x4 5 speed for $2000 dollars. Needs motor and turbo. It has a brand new set of BF Goodrich mud terrains, 305/70/R16, New auto locking hubs, standard transmission with New clutch, New pressure plate, New throw out bearing, New clutch master cylinder assembly, whole clutch system has been replaced, New U-joints, New batteries still under warranty, New lift pump, New high pressure oil pump.

I have a 96 that will need a new clutch soon and third gear grinds pretty band and sometimes fourth will also. I talked to the guy and he said the trans is tight. The truck was dusted out and has no compression but is in the truck.. It has 320,000 miles on the truck. Is it worth $2000?

Sounds like it to me, are you going to part it? I could use some Mud Terrains.

If you need all you say you do I'd be all over that deal like a drunk on a hooker on a friday night after payday. Better hop on that one just the new parts alone is worth it.

Re: I found a parts truck is it worth it?

This may be a dumb Question but with the motor getting dusted out shouldn`t have hurt the oiling system or the injectors should it?

No the oil system and injectors should be fine but it probably wiped out the turbo and the cylinder walls and rings are probably in need of repair. What are your plans for the dusted engine if you get the truck...hint hint?

Re: I found a parts truck is it worth it?

Yeah the trubo is gone and he said it has no compression. I don`t plan on keeping the engine. If i buy it i will be selling the stock aluminum rims. My plans for it would be to keep the hpop, the injectors (maybe) the idm, the tires, and the ecm, and whatever little odds and end i may need. But basically i will sell everything else or just sell the truck rolling along with the dusted motor. I doesn`t look i`ll have a hard time selling things does is lol.

I would actually be interested in the engine for a rebuild so keep me in mind. I would come and pick it up too. Road trip away from the wifey.
