Trucks running strange sometimes

some times when you crank it, it will idle fine then it will just drop off suddenly like it's gonna die and some times it does die and other times it doesn't, the CEL will accompany it some times then when it's little fit is over the CEL will go off and it runs like a dream. any ideas on what the problem is? thanks in advance for any and all help guys

Re: Trucks running strange sometimes

if the CEL come on that a code has been stored.

get it hooked up to scanner... one like AE or a scan gauge or a snap on type.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes

not sure how superships reads codes but if it displays a DTC number you can check the link I just posted

Superchips will display the "P" codes and you have to look up what they mean but it works. I keep an old superchips programmer form my v10 superduty in the truck just in case. It is easier to lug around versus the snap on scanner.

Re: Trucks running strange sometimes

You need a map sensor and ICP sensor. The truck will run but will do exactly what it is doing now to you due to those sensors being bad. They aren't cheap but it will solve your problem.
