look what i can do

oil leaking out of top of dipstick tube

what would cause this and what do i need to do to fix it? i smell oil in the cab all the time now and it was leaking very badly till about two weeks ago and i got it to stop but i changed my oil friday and now its leaking again. thanks for any help

Sounds like you've got a lot of crankcase pressure for it to be coming out of the dipstick tube. Check your ccv and make sure its not clogged or something

okay ill check it tommorow i have it run into the exhaust but ive been wondering if the hose is stopped up

How do you have it in the exhaust?

96 F250 ext cab 6637 3"down pipe 4" straight pipe ebpv delete ccv mod firestone air rite suspention

i ran hose from my ccv to the back of the cab and got a short piece of pipe and welded into the exhaust pretty easy really

If you didn,t angle the pipe just right in the exhaust I would say that is your problem seen it happen now several times the angle has to be just right for it to work that is how I have mine too I welded my ccv in where the cat would have been and put it on a 45* angle with an 45* angle cut on the end of the pipe that was welded into the exhaust .

I agree. You need the exhaust to "pull" the vapors out not push them back in. So where it joins the exhaust is and at what angle, very important.

well i ran it in at an angle so it would pull the vapors.i did it several months ago and havent had and issues till about a month ago then it started leaking from the top of the tube but i guess ill take the hose lose and clean it out
