Grey smoke when idiling?

truck hasnt ran in 6 months, I go to start it up and a huge cloud of white/blueish smoke comes out.. slowly disipates to minimal whiteish grey smoke.. then when i burp it while idiling a cloud of grey smoke comes out.. i plan on getting diy stage 3s or maybe some swamps injectors and i just bought new glowplugs and am going to be throwing those in tomorrow.. truck also has a new glowplug relay.. any idea whats up?? rings?? glowplugs??

Could be rings, valve stem seals, etc............go and drive it a bit and see what happens.

Valve stem seals will smoke at first start after a long down time then diminish quickly. Rings might smoke until the engine is fully warmed up.




But, I would go and drive the darn thing and see what she does!

she drives fine.. just smokes like a mother ####er on start up.. gonna change the plans and run the motor stock for now.. save up for a cummins swap.

Im kinda leaning towards valve stem seals on mine but the thing is it barely smokes if I let the glowplugs stay on longer and wait like 10-15secs after the wait to start light goes out.

Heck, if it drives and runs fine I would not be overly concerned with it.

Did it do this before it was parked?

the greyish smoke wasnt around before it was parked, the smoke slowly disipates then at about 5 minutes theres no more smoke.. im thinkin rings, but i got the glowplugs for free brand new so ill throw those in tomorrow night and let you guys no what happened.
