Re: no wait to start light and wont start

Check underhood fuse #22 (30A maxi: middle row, closest to the engine). If it has blown, your fuel heater has shorted. Disconnect the fuel heater element via the external connection (funny squarish-looking plug) on the driver's side of the fuel bowl or the internal connection (drain bowl, remove filter lid and filter ... my favorite way) from inside on the driver's side. Replace the fuse and see what happens. Cheers!

Re: no wait to start light and wont start

Thanks Patrick unpluged the fuel heater and fuse good still no wait to start light and wont start. where does the glow plug relay get its power from the battery and does the key activate the other two red wires because the only one hot is the black/ blue tracer none of the other wires have power.

Re: no wait to start light and wont start

Do you have power at the cig lighter? OBDII port gets power on same circuit. Glowplug relay coil gets power through #22. Other side (big wire) gets it from 2 fuse links. PCM gets power through underhood fuse #9 via the PCM power relay (one of the square relays in the underhood fusebox). Cheers!

Re: no wait to start light and wont start

oh does the diode have any thing to do with the power to the glow plug relay because it does not have any continuity.

Re: no wait to start light and wont start

I would verify that you have power on both sides of each fuse both in the power distribution box under the hood and in the fuse panel under the dash first before spending the money on a new PCM. I would also verify that the wait to start light bulb is not just burnt out. You could also have faulty wiring, a bad ignition switch, or a multitude of other issues that could be causing your problem. What wire are you jumping out that is getting hot? You state when this wire comes off the truck dies, which wire is this and where is it located? It sounds like an ignition switch issue. If you need Ican give you the colors of the wires at the ignition switch that should be hot in the run position and you can check them with a meter to verify whether or not they are getting power.
