Re: transmision help.

Ive never swapped transmissions in one of these trucks, especially something like a superduty trans into an OBS, but ive done several swaps on cars. Keep in mind all of the little pieces parts youll need aside from the obvious (pilot bearing, block plate, interior trim, possible computer tuning to turn off transmission MIL's, etc.). Stuff can add up quick.

Re: transmision help.

Here is a list of things that had to be changed that did not just direct bolt up.

Move trans. crossmember back, slot holes and fab a mount for the pass. side.
Push the floorboard up at the back of the trans.
Shorten rear drive shaft and change the flange to match the flange on the transfer case.
Lengthen the front drive shaft, take the cv out of it and put the flange you take off the rear on it.
Move the transfer case skid plate back.
Install a trans. cooler and run rubber line.

just found that from him. there might be some other stuff but like i said PM him and he'll let ya know.

Re: transmision help.

i also recall now that the tunnel has to be "massaged" for the new tranny to fit, also i believe you have to use the transfer case from the 6 spd if its 4wd and not your 5 spd one.
