1997 f250.hd 7.3 powerstroke

Need help my 97 surges and sounds like its loping on.start up I've replaced the ipr and ipc same result

Does it do it if you start it in Neutral instead of Park? If so, it's probably the Transmission Range Sensor. Cheers!

I tried starting in neutral and same thing sounds like a top fuel dragster.

I had same problem with mine, replaced my IDM an it was all good.

Before replacing the IDM, check all you valvecover connections for evidence of melting or burning, and oil in the connectors. Remove the oil cap and sniff it. Does it smell like burned electrical insulation? Also, is the CEL illuminated? Does it have a chip ? Cheers!

Ok idm is good check the harness all good it's still doing same . It starts right up and as long as I press the gas pedal for about a minute it goes away and runs fine but does it every time on start up hot or cold.
