Oil Leak Question
I finally gave up and took the truck to the dealer this week as I couldn't track down an oil leak that is getting worse. It was not coming from the usual suspects like turbo pedestal o-rings, rail end plugs, valley is dry, etc. The leak appeared to be coming just below the headers but couldn't pin it down. Dealer texted last night saying they need to pull the tranny out to find the source of the leak and also noted that the tranny was also leaking by the front pump seal.
Questions.. I normally do most work myself but just don't have the time right now. Truck has 180,000 and never had any tranny work done. If the tranny front pump seal is leaking what should have I have done if the tranny gets pulled? What would be a likely oil leak cause of oil being found near the headers.
