1/2" Wheel Spacer and Alcoas

I want to keep my polished Alcoas but I'm tired of the limited turning radius due to rubbing th leafs. I tried a simple 1/4" spacer and gained another 1/4 turn of the steering wheel but I'm still being cheated a 1/4 turn. Any issues with 1 piece billit 1/2" spacers and tapered lug nuts? Assuming the studs are long enough.
