Fuel Gauge Issues

The Fuel Selector Valve has recently stopped working so I unplugged the connect and took it off the truck. I have the Bronco 33 gallon rear tank swap and the electronic fuel pump conversion on the truck too. I am now running solely off the rear tank and having trouble getting the fuel gauge to just read the rear tank. I have tried connecting the Yellow/White wire from the gauge to the Yellow/Light Blue wire from the rear tank sending unit and making sure the ground wire from the sending unit is gtg. I flip the dash fuel selector switch to rear and my fuel gauge stays on E, even after filling the tank. I need help with understanding how to bypass the switch or any relays that are hindering the fuel gauge from reading just the rear tank. Thanks to anybody and everybody that helps in advance.
