Door locks locking/unlocking randomly

My 97 super cab has a door lock problem where with the doors are locking & unlocking randomly while idling or driving down the road. I have an old Viper/Python alarm system so that could be at fault but was curious if the door lock actuator on the drivers door could be causing this random issue.

Re: Door locks locking/unlocking randomly

Check the rubber accordion boot between door and door frame, often the wiring harness will wear inside the boot and can short out in this area. Look closely as the wire inside the insulation can break over time from continuous flexing as a result of opening/closing the door. Id also unhook the viper alarm and see if that has any results.

Re: Door locks locking/unlocking randomly

it could also be a bad switch in the door.
the only real way to figure out what the problem is by process of elimination.
