Disk Brake Conversion

Look for any ideas for a Disk Brake Conversion for a 1997 F350 4x4 while maintaining the same lug pattern as the front

Re: Disk Brake Conversion

I did the Cadillac Eldorado disc brake conversion earlier this year. So far I’m pleased with it. I had intended to just grab a rear axle off a super duty and have a new lug pattern machined but I won the brake conversion in a raffle so that’s the route I took.

Re: Disk Brake Conversion

I am selling my 10.25 today that I put 10.5 brakes on.
uses e350 rotors
remove 10.25 backing plate mount
fab a mount that matches the 10.5 brakes mount
a little welding
a bunch of grinding on the parking brake pads to get them to clear the 10.25s much larger hubs.
done.

if I were to do it again I would start with e350 dana axle as a donor as the parking brake pads are already clearanced for the hubs.
I couldnt swap to them as they use a different style pivot, could be a year thing but I never investigated it too much

very easy swap
