Racheting axle noise

Have a 91 dana 60 kingpin, the bearings from the knuckle outward have all been replaced and properly greased with marine grade grease.
My axle is making a noise similiar to a rachet... Am i correct to assume my ujoint on my stub shaft is shot?
Also whats the best way to make my friggen brakes quit squeakin!! tried all of the auto-stores chemical wonders...

Re: Racheting axle noise

All that crap they sell just makes it worse. Without knowing what kind of pads you have I'd say to lube the sliders and sand the pads a bit. If that doesn't work then a brake job with turning the rotors will.
Not sure about the axle. Is it a locker? My back one sounds like that sometimes if I'm turning on dry pavement. It's a detroit locker though.

Re: Racheting axle noise

I have a locker upfront, but i have manual hubs so its not the locker, the rachetin noise isnt like that of the locker, nor does it feel like the locker. I know I blew the same lock-out hub that the noise is coming from, however I replaced that hub, and the noise still exists. I have done some research on the d60 and when they break a hub, they sometimes ruin a ujoint, but id like more opinions before I drop $120 for a set of ujoints...
