it looks to be all original? Does it have any aftermarket modifications? Any rust?
The 7.3 trucks are going up in value and they are getting harder to find with lower miles.
That seems like alot of $$$$ to some of us but that all depends on your local market (basically craigslist is the local market these days)
If it is clean and runs like new then you may be happy to pay that much
Just know a 97 7.3 is a towing SOB but it does not handle the road like the newer diesels, or a superduty (99+)
However it can be made to!
Also it is not intercooled and has smaller turbo and smaller injectors.
With some upgrades it can keep up with the newer trucks
When I first got rid of my V10 superduty and stepped into a 97 7.3 F350 I was thinking I made a big mistake.
It did not tow well, did not have the power I wanted and did not hold the road.
My 97 was completely worn out.
Now I would not trade it for the world, but it took alot of work and some $$$$ to get it the way she is now.
Now she will haul anything and handles the road just fine....very comfortable truck.
I would not trade my 97 for the world, in 3 years or so I am very happy with my 97, I use it as a shop truck and do alot of hauling.
I paid $3000 for mine then put about $15K into it and alot of blood sweat and tears.
Your 97 looks much nicer to start with, but I suggest you drive it around a bit so you know what you are getting into
trucks need some love, that is all
