First post, guys. Loving all the content and knowledge on here so I've taken the time to create an account to hopefully solve some problems...
I've read many of the internet's message boards in trying to get my Cruise Control to begin functioning...
Topic: 1996 Ford F250 XL 7.3L
1) All (3) brake lights function.
reservoir is full.
3) Old 9/16" switch on ABS
Master Cylinder functioned properly (normally open circuit; short/continuity when brake pedal is depressed). Replaced it anyway for $29 to the new 7/8" switch and still no success.
4) Removed old steering wheel cover. The cover and the individual switches are obsolete by Ford.
5) Horn works indicating that clockspring is functioning well.
The Cruise Control light has never illuminated. Ironically, it worked (1) time after playing with the Master Cylinder switch and the switch cover from steering wheel, but hasn't worked again. This tells me that I have CC
functioning on the PCM
and doesn't need to be reflashed, and that all the other wiring is intact.
What's my next move, please? I appreciate your time and sorry for bringing up such a so-often discussed topic. Cheers.
