low boost

I got my 97 f250 back in december and i started noticing i dont get alot of boost from the turbo. ive looked it over and found i have no waist gate and i dont know if my turbo is bad or what. Cruising on a flat road at 65 i barely get 1 psi of boost, and have maxed 9 psi pulling a hill. any help would be great.

Have you checked the red boot before the turbo those tend to tear from the bottem due to heat and cause low boost other then low boost situations that where you start then you check y pipe

Re: low boost

Well is the 65mph cruising on flat ground? If so, that sounds about right. But once you put your foot in it at that moment it should build up pretty fast.
Pulling a hill doesn't sound that off either. I dont see anything really north of 7psi climbing hills unloaded. But it can hit 25 within a second or too if I punch it. Those numbers dont sound of for standard daily driving. Also depends if the truck as anything upgraded or so...

95 Auto. 4.10 gears. SCLB. Baby Swamps Injectors, TS-6 chip with swamps tunes, DIY E-Fuel. AFE MaxFlow. Glowshift trans, pyro, and boost. 6.0 IC KC TP38R. Converted EBPV to exhaust brake.

Ebpv delet you will see more air filter upgrade see more and more fuel = more boost. Had 11-13 after 6637 upgrade and fuel pressure mod. 18 after i deleted tge ebpv. And maxed out at 26 when i installed baby swamps injectors. It will pull more but id rather leave the boost sensor alone. Boost sensor will defuel at 25 26 psi
