P1531 and Cylinder Contribution Test, etc.

Hey, new to this site but not the PSD. Haven't had to work on mine in many years but having some running issues lately. When trying to run a cylinder contribution test with AE software I get a P1531 code: Invalid Test: Accelerator Pedal Movement. If I unplug the TPS it will complete a test most of the time (with inconsistent results). Is the P1531 normal and you're supposed to unplug the TPS, or do I have a bad sensor? Don't think that would be the cause of my problems but want to know why I'm getting that code.
