WTS light only comes on for about 2 seconds

I have a 96 F250 and the WTS only stays on for a second. I know the WTS light is just a basic indicator light and I know my GPR and glow plugs are working. Does anyone know what would cause the WTS light to illuminate for only 1-2 seconds. It doesn't matter if its 30 or 110 degrees outside. I was thinking about unplugging the light bulb and running a Glow plug LED in to the spot on the dash and have that as my new WTS light. What do you guys think?

Why even worry about it as long as you know that your glow plug relay is working?

Just turn the key on and wait for a bit and then start the truck.

If everything is working properly the glow plugs will stay on for up to 2 minutes.

I looked at the voltmeter more than the wts.
Not that I really watched either. Get in, turn key on, buckle up and whatever else I'm doing, then start.

I understand, I guess its more for other people then me (AKA the wife). If someone jumps in my truck and see a "wait to start light" chances are they will wait. Not only that I kinda like the stock look and the GP LED will allow me to know my GP is working from in the cab.

Right I want to do this anyways and I was thinking what would be better then to run it right in the stock WTS location.

To run it to the stock WTS light or position I would be willing to bet that you will have to deal with a PC board with all the other lights in that panel connected to it.

Yup. And how ford did goofy things like controlling the ground side of things.....
But.... you could run new wires, block the contact strips, and be g2g.
