95 7.3 no start, everything looks ok on scanner

Hi guys,

I have a 95 f250 with the 7.3. Cranks but won't start, zero fuel out the tail pipe. Replaced the mech fuel pump, fuel squirts out of the schrader valve on the regulator if i open it, I haven't measured pressure while cranking but its definitely building some pressure.

I can't post a picture here but Ive got it hooked up to my laptop using FORscan, it quickly builds ICP to 3200 PSI while cranking, IPR goes to 50% and stays constant at 50 while cranking. Injector pulse width is between 3.8 and 4 ms while cranking. Injectors all pass the buzz test but some have a slightly different pitch sound, is that normal?

CPS is new, I'm only seeing 110-120 rpm while cranking, but still with everything else looking ok on the scanner I should at least be getting some fuel out the tailpipe right? Or am I wasting my time diagnosing more without getting it to crank faster

would love some ideas! thanks

My 02 wound up being an ignition switch
Shake the column pretty good, and try starting again

It sounds like a fuel problem since your getting injector pulse width.

Is you fuel bowl full

01 f-250, Standard
Rev tech 4" lift, 37" military wrangler Mt tires
KC diy 66, Full force 160/100 and custom tunes from PHP
Banks intercooler and full 4" exhaust, Diy S&B intake
Diy quad feed, Hydra, Isspro boost, pyro, and fuel pressure
3/0 battery cables with military style terminals

Agreed. Either no fuel to the injectors or low compression.

If I had low compression I'd still get some fuel out the tailpipe though right? I can put my face at the tailpipe while my buddy cranks it and doesn't smell of diesel at all

The ignition switch is definitely suspect I have to wiggle it a bit to start. But I didn't think that was the issue since I wouldn't have all the scanner info if the ignition was off?

The fuel bowl is full, I filled it with fresh fuel and new filter

But yeah there can't be fuel at the injectors since none is coming out. do the fuel regulators on the side of the bowl ever go bad?

Mine did everything but start. Got vodes, buzz test, etc

Once I shook the column while holding the lever it started

Hopefully is same for you
