97 E4OD and tach problems

Hey all, first post, my 1997 f350 crew cab long bed 2wd dually is having a hardshift problem. I have a map/baro code but my map sensor itself isn't the problem and I've never seen a barometer. Also my tach works only half the time. I was told i should track down that code but its either too cold or raining and my truck doesn't fit in the garage. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 97 E4OD and tach problems

The BARO sensor is in the cab, under the dash.

The tach gets its signal from the PCM, which uses a signal from the CPS. But if the CPS is inop, the engine shouldn't run. That's a head-scratcher.

It must be my tach because my tuner always gets the rpms in the data stream. Sometimes i have a camshaft pos sensor
