Re: 95 died

Also how long have you cranked on it after you changed the fuel pump. It can take a while to prime up.

Re: 95 died

I would toss 5-10 gallons in the front and crank it. Make sure the fuel bowl is full. Crank for a few. Check the bowl. Crank for a few. Check the bowl. Top off as needed.

Re: 95 died

When mine ran out on me in the gas station parking lot 15 ft from the pumps. It took alot of cranking to reprime the system. Never thought of adding fuel to the bowl. If you can get it to fire it will prime quickly. Your foot is probably gone off the pick up in the tank. If the fuel station hadn't been on a hill I probably would have made it. It does not take these trucks long to empty the fuel filter housing.

Re: 95 died

With the fuel pump being a two stage pump. Fuel goes into the pump, then to the filter at a low psi through the filter and back to the pump and then to the injectors. If you can get it to fire off the fuel in the bowl it should prime the rest of the system.

I know you said you tried to change tanks but it could be stuck and the fuel pickup foot could of fell off. It's easy to check with just some more fuel.

Re: 95 died

well after charging batts all day and cranking the stuffing out of it, I have more press at the schrader valve still no fire. after hrs of thought, I switched the tanks when I started it up to get the water, 1/4 mile drive then shut it off. do the selector valves or transfer valve go bad?

Re: 95 died

went out and put my hand on transfer valve had granddaughter operate switch, valve motor came on in both directions so I would say not stuck.
can I blow air back through the feed line into the tanks?
