AE Data

Good Afternoon,
So I finally got AE to connect to my 94.5 PSD. Anyone care to take a look at the data and provide inputs?

Thanks

Re: AE Data

Looks like you have lack of boost....only 9.4 psi. Probably a leak. Map sensor seems to be reading ambient air pressures fine. You can get a boost leak detector from diesel site to help (I did this and it worked really well) or just look go over the truck with a fine toothed comb. All other readings seem to be as they should.
Hope this helps

Re: AE Data

What problems are you having? Lack of power? Misfire? Or just curious?

It would just help to know what we are looking for.

Re: AE Data

Not having any noticeable problems, just finally got AE to connect and wanted to get input from the community. Maybe head off some issues if someone noticed something out of place.

I was curious about those boost numbers. I Bought boost gauge and it barely gets above 10, so I probably have a leak someone where.

Re: AE Data

Thanks. I was thinking the boost was low.

Re: AE Data

On a stock truck, I wouldn't expect to see it go above 10 psi more than occasionally. 'Course, maybe I have boost leaks.....

Re: AE Data

A stock truck should build 15-17psi MAX. I'm talking, loaded for max weight, climbing a 7% grade.

Around town, a stock truck will build maybe 12-13psi.

Re: AE Data

So I built a boost leak tester today. 6" long piece of 3" PVC, a 3" PVC cap, drilled hole and screwed in male air compressor fitting. I installed it on the flexible intake hose to the turbo (the one that is red on non modified trucks). Pushed in about 15 psi using the regulator on my compressor and comparing to boost gauge. It was easy to find the leak between the turbo and the Y pipe. Replaced the gasket and getting good boost now. The air compressor gauge and the boost gauge matched after I fixed the leak.
