Door lock actuator removal

My power door lock is starting to give out and I've researched the tin foil mod over and over and started in on the project. I've got the door panel off and the three bolts for the lock mechanism off but I'm struggling to see how to disconnect the rods on this truck. Most of the images, videos I've found relate to the newer body trucks. Anyone have a good write up with photos with our trucks?

Re: Door lock actuator removal

Follow up post to help others in the future. The shop manual calls for drilling out the rivet on the outside of the door to get the lock actuator out. If I had to do it again I would have tried to spread open the bracket that holds the actuator in place and not have to drill out the rivet which results in finding a solution to remounting the bracket back in place. I think there is enough room and visibility to be able to spread the bracket apart. I was surprised at how hard an original motorcraft part is to locate. Ended up with an auto parts store part and hope it holds up.

Re: Door lock actuator removal

I ended up spreading the bracket apart on my 93 . I didn't think to bring home a rivet and gun the weekend I did the repair . Spreading worked just fine .
