Should I trade?

Hello Nation,

I am here in a Walmart parking lot waiting for a guy to show up with a supposedly mint condition 1996 f250 auto 4x4 extended cab. Has 185k miles. I'm getting cold feet. I have a 2012 f150 extended cab 4x4 5.0 with 183k miles and we are meeting here to take a look and possibly trade. Is the truck anywhere near the value of mine? I've seen what people ask but what is it actually worth? If in fact it is mint. No leaks etc. I haven't got any better offers for my truck then $9500 bucks. Turned it down because I was at the time priced too high. But am I lowering my standards too much? Reason I'm seeking is to pull my 34' tt that the f150 isn't capable of pulling. Well it's at its max capacity empty. 7200lbs. Anyways I would appreciate any quick responses.

I'm located in Florida. But when I crawled under the truck I saw leak from the oil pan and the leak coming from the power steering pump. And a little more Blow by then I was comfortable with. So I had to pass.

Yes, I would have passed too.

Even though an oil leak on a 7.3L is extremely common (usually simple to fix too), seeing any excessive blow by would turn me away. A 1996 truck with 185K and more than normal blow by is not worth anything near what your 2012 4x4 F.150 is, unless it has a ton of miles on it.

What do you consider "excessive blowby"?
