PSD Radiator Core Support

I bought the radiator core support repair kit from Auto Body Specialties last week, finally had time this weekend to put it together. The parts that came with the kit are Very well made. I used a 460 core and it came out very nice. I sand blasted the core I have then welded the kit pieces together. It took me about 5.5 hours to do the job.
The part # for the kit I used is F-459. If your looking to repair your rusted out core this is a pretty good way to go.
I used a spot weld cutter, saws all and a mig welder and also a tape measure. Hope this helps someone in a bind.

Subscribing

Let's see some pics. How bad is it to keep it all aligned to right dimensions?

Re: PSD Radiator Core Support

It was actually a piece of cake but i`ve done lots of fabrication. If i can i`ll get my granddaughter to post a picture I d`ont have a clue how to post pictures. Sorry. But I can say that once you get the pieces it`s self explanatory. Just measure twice before you cut.

Re: PSD Radiator Core Support

Pics are barely bigger than postage stamps, but that "finished" core support doesn't look very solid.....

Re: PSD Radiator Core Support

Haha, pretty sure you just mixed up the pictures in those 2 posts!

That does look pretty good though, glad to hear there is a more permanent fix other than "go to the junkyard and look if you see one with less rust than yours, that will eventually rust out in the near future"

Re: PSD Radiator Core Support

Yes my Granddaughter did mix them up Lt Dan. It`s very solid and stronger than original. I read about the one thats in the process of being built I think the guy was talking about $800.00 to 1,000.00 for his core support.( Mite of been Bradbuilt). With shipping to CA. this kit cost me $343.95 and a few hours of labor. For my customer this was the way to go.
