97 Died, Restarted, No Codes
I had an
IDM that died a week ago that took out the drivers side Bank. Put in Allied remanufactured LID and fixed the problem. I've been driving it for 4-5 days and no problem. Last night I was slowing down approaching a speed bump and the engine quickly idled down and died. Watched the Tach drop matching the engine die. I put it in neutral and key off and key on and it restarted immediately. No
CEL and no codes stored when I got home and scanned.
I had a similar problem last year that led to replacing the
IPR. With that I could monitor duty cycle and is was about half of what it should be. Replaced
IPR last year with new Ford
IPR and have been fine since.
CPS was replaced at that time trying to solve the problem and thought I got a new one from Riffraff or another reputable company. Not sure where to focus the attention. I may pick up a new "recall"
CPS from Ford to make sure I have the latest and greatest. Anything else besides
IPR or
CPS that would cause an engine to die, quickly restart and not set a code?
