Bought vehicle as a non runner with hopes of getting it going,
put 2 new batteries in, replaced solenoid relay, CPS,and GPR. Have fuel at the fuel bowl, I removed the fuel bowl heater, all fuses are good, no check engine lights. I have a WTS light and tachometer only moves slightly when cranking. Good crank, no smoke from exhaust pipe. Went to O'Reillys for OBD check, no connection no codes.
Should I consider replacing IDM or proceed elsewhere?

I doubt that O'Reillys has a code reader that can read Fords codes on these trucks.

Check the fuel pressure on the side of the filter housing while turning the engine over. You can use just a cheap pencil type tire pressure gauge. Just wrap it in a rag so you don't take a diesel bath.

Check the oil level in the High Pressure Oil Reseviour. It should be within 1/2" of the top. There is a allen head screw that you can take out to check the level. If it is down fill it with the same oil that you put in the engine.

Thanks for the info. I did check the HPOP, just forgot to mention it in my earlier post, it was at the top of the hole

Generally a bad IDM will set the CEL. Fuel pressure should be a minimum of 25 psi at a minimum crank speed of 100 rpm. CHEERS!

It's probably air. These are a pain to get going while cranking bleed the air out with shreader valve on side of fuel bowl be careful that fuel can get hot you should have straight fuel coming out no air bubbles.
