I think its cold combustion chambers.
Does it smoke if you plug it in first?
What oil are you running?
It may very well be worn poppet valves in your injectors. If it clears up when warm then it points to injectors. The 7.3 uses its crankcase oil as hydraulic fluid to make the 3000psi needed to inject the fuel. When the oil is cold the injectors have a harder time = unburnt fuel in the morning until the oil thins out and combustion chambers get up to operating temps
