No you can't jump pins in the connector. Some of the plug-n tuners can read codes on these. I think some of the ScanGauge products will work, although I'm not sure which models will work on a 7.3 PSD (hopefully someone will chime in on this). Cheers!

Or try to find a vin locked Superchips 1705 and use it for a code reader.

Last I knew that the only years the scan gauge will work is 02-03.
Google superduty diagnosis on the cheap. I know you don't have a superduty but it works the same. I use forscan all the time.

Used laptops are cheap. I got a $50 laptop for shop use.

Do you use bluetooth or a cable?
Might be time to snag up one of my dad's old PC laptops and see if I can get it up and running

Re: Pull codes on 97 f450 psd?

I use my Bluetooth dongle. It's a pain in the butt though. I have to un pair and re pair it every time I use it. Only reason I still use it is I'm cheap and don't want to buy the usb. Plus I already had the dongle.

Re: Pull codes on 97 f450 psd?

I use Forscan on a laptop as well, but with the OBD2 to USB cable. $20 at Amazon IIRC.

The Superchips programmer will only pull trouble codes. Forscan allows contribution tests, IPR values, etc. It's very helpful and free software for laptop use.

Re: Pull codes on 97 f450 psd?

I use the car gauge pro app ($9+/-) and an Amazon bluetooth dongle ($15+/-) with an old tablet that was given to me......I can pull codes, perform injector buzz tests, etc. There's an option for a contribution test, but my curiousity hasn't peaked enough to try it.
