Manual to Automatic

Alright I know I am going to get #### for this. But my Manual trans needs to be rebuilt. I wouldn't mind switching to an automatic. I can get an automatic trans for my truck cheaper than I can get a manual. What I am wondering is what all do I need to do to convert it over? So far the only thing I have heard so for is swap PCM's? Also any drive shaft modification? It's a 1997 F350 7.3l.

Aftermarket controller/harness is the way I would go.

And you will need a new steering column for an auto or fab one like I'm doing.
This Is controller I'm using.
also need to either have a radiator with a cooler or an aftermarket cooler

Do you still have your ZF5 transmission or have you sold it already?

Re: Manual to Automatic

I do have my zf its a 42 but its tired it will run but it had the typical roll over noise and the 2-3 sync and 3-4 sync going up shift was fine just couldnt down shift into second. So it needstlc i know at one point bearings were replaced but syncs were not. But it has had a long life at 350000 miles.
