Nobody Likes Blue smoke!

So I got my 97 7.3 back from the shop. the rust work is finished and the bed is soon to be reinstalled!

I replaced the wiring harnesses under the valve covers. The truck now runs very well! It starts great and has a smooth idle. But we now have another set of problems that I hope people have experience with.

Problem one: After the truck sits running for a minute, it starts to smoke a white/blue smoke. Definitely burning oil from some place. Hitting the throttle the smoke increases heavily, but still seems to run well.

Problem two: Hitting throttle (in park) the rpms increase, then a sound of hissing/air noise. Then the truck bogs down. Hitting the throttle a little more the truck gets over 1500rpm and the hissing goes away and the truck seems ok.

These two problems may be connected or may not be, I dont know. My thoughts are maybe bad injector orings or injector cups? Maybe the turbo is leaking oil? The hissing sound maybe the butterfly valve sticking?

What do you think? any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Nobody Likes Blue smoke!

Problem 2 sounds like your EBV solenoid is engaging. Unless you have already deleted it.

Re: Nobody Likes Blue smoke!

Ok, so Im going to check my fuel for oil when I get home this weekend.

Now if I had bad injector cups, Then there would be coolant in the oil or the fuel? Or where would the coolant go?
