Problem with lights in the rear!!!

So I was driving home and my friend was following me and he calls and tells me to turn my lights on. I say well they are on and he says no they arent none of the lights in the rear are on.

Well I got home and sure enough all the lights in the rear didnt work but only the marker lights and the license plate lights didnt work. Turn signals and brake lights work. My headlights and everything in the front works just not the markers and license plate lights.

Any idea what it may be thats stopping them from coming on?

Re: Problem with lights in the rear!!!

check ur bulb, it could be a double filament, one filament runs the tail lights and one runs the rest. i had that problem with the cattle trailer.

Your tail lights and licenses are on a diffents fuse the the turn and brake lights. My licenses plate wire broke and was grounding out in the hitch and I was blowin fuses. But if you check fuses that shouldnt be the problem.

Does your front corner markers work?

Re: Problem with lights in the rear!!!

check under neath by the spare wear the connector is. their is connector that is for disconnecting the bed wiring and hooking up the trailer wireing.

Re: Problem with lights in the rear!!!

will check it out when I get off work tomorrow. Thankfully I wont have to drive in the dark at all.

I will go through the fuses again to make sure I didnt miss any.

I will check by the spare for the connector. I am thinking that may be it because i remember it snowed and I backed into a parking spot at work and there was a pile of snow there and the bracket that holds the trailer wiring was bent back so i will see if that is what did it.

Re: Problem with lights in the rear!!!

if you follow the trailer harness back you should see the tee. THeir may be two. So also follow a tail light harnes down till you see a connector. I think the bumper lights come befor the plug. But I havnt owned a obs in 3 years so I may be a littel rusty.
I know I tore up a lot of wires in the back in the snow on my obs. had mostly to do with the fact the exhaust rusted off under neath so the snow in the bed would melt then Water would drip down on everything then freeze.
