Truck is a 97 F-250 with 175000 miles on it. It puffs a little white smoke at start up, but then it clears up within a few minutes. It smells like it is running real rich to me.
If you rev it in neutral, it comes right up to about 2500 rpm with no problem, but if you floor it from there, all hell breaks loose. It starts sputtering and popping like a gas motor does when it is out of time.
I am thinking it may be injectors, but I am curious if anyone else has had this problem, and if so, what was the cause.
I ran AE
on it, and no codes, no check engine light.
Cylinder contribution passed with no faults
Buzz test passed but the solenoids sounded real weak to me compared to ones I have heard in the past.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, just looking for ideas.
Any advice is appreciated
