tranny/clutch noise

my friend put a new one piece flywheel and clutch in his truck and it makes a loud grinding noise when at idle but goes away at about 700-800 rpm. whats wrong? truck is a 94 all stock but exhaust.

That's normal with a one piece flywheel. It will grind a little at idle and at low RPMs, especially when in gear. I know South Bend even puts it in their directions that it will make a grinding noise.

Yup mine did the same thing and I took it back and asked about it...told it was normal and I would just get used to the sound. I don't like hearing it but what are you to do about it?
