Re: is this a tranny or tc problem

yes it was kind of like starting a manual trans without the clutch pushed in but not as violent. and this has happened 2 or 3 times at a drive through and once when i stopped and fueled up.I havent heard of anyone else having a problem like this of course!

Kind of sounds like maybe your TC is locked when you are starting it. I know if you had a switch to lock it and try to come to a stop the truck tries to push through the brakes, with a real lopy sound.

Not sure about that. Mine is doing the same thing kind of, when I slow down or stop sometimes the TC doesn't unlock for a few seconds. I started a thread on it because I don't know if it could just be an electrical thing or what. If I find anything out I will let you know.

Re: is this a tranny or tc problem

I had a chevy beretta that did that same exact thing. but it was when you went to stop at a light it would do it. I took it to a tranny shop and they told me the torque converter wasn't unlocking, they unplugged some sensor and said it would be fine, that I would just lose some mileage, but I didn't notice much of anything, and ran it like that for about 2 more years before I sold it.
