Truck Wont Start

Alright i came out in the morning and started my truck up fine with no problems, after that i drove to friends and shut it off for about maybe ten mintues or less. When i went to start it, it wouldnt start untill about the tenth try. It runs perfect once it gets started, it just now when i shut it off it doesnt start at all unless i pull the air filter off and spray a puff of ether into it and crank it, after that it runs with no problems.

Any one have any ideas?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Truck Wont Start

well you will need glow plugs if you keep spraying either into it. so you shut your truck off and ten mins later it wouldnt start? i think someone had said that would be something with the ipr? something about when the oil gets hot it thins out.

Re: Truck Wont Start

Well it wont start when its cold either, so it probably not the ipr if thats from the oil getting hot and thinning out

Re: Truck Wont Start

Alright i changed the relay and the fuel filter, but now i think i ran into another problem, the fuel bowl where the fuel filter goes keeps draining empty and there is no leak any where, because there would be diesel all over my garage fuel.

This looks like it turning into a real headache too.

Re: Truck Wont Start

I finally got the truck running by just sitting the cranking it for like 30 seconds.

I was wondering tho, if these trucks need back pressure? I dont have an exhaust on at the moment, but it has the stock pancake downpipe on.
