97 stroker problems

Got a 97psd 163k 4x4 5spd ext cab. just replaced glow plugs, relay, fuel filter, and oil. Question is when I first start the truck in the morn. I can go for about 1 or 2 miles then the truck falls on it's face. It will idel fine but when you try to give it fuel it misses and smokes really bad. I just made a trip of 1130 mi. and used 5qts. oil never used oil before and no visible leak. cam sensor 2 years old. Is this a HPOP or injector problem. Need help.

In regard to the oil loss I am thinking that you may have bad injector O-rings that are allowing you oil to be pushed into the fuel side. Take a look at your fuel filter and see if it is black like there is oil in there.

Re: 97 stroker problems

The filter was black but it didnt seem to be any in the fuel itself. I checked everthing last night plugs woking and no problems with the harness. Even drove the truck cold start and no problems. Im wondering if its not the ultra low sulfer fuel I put in it in new york.

At 200 miles to a quart of oil there is a problem somewhere. The normal hidden places to loose that much oil are injector O-rings or turbo seals.
